Flowers are Beautiful

RosesSeat

I know that this is an old garden settee but how lovely the Basket of Flowers look they really are a picture.  Roses are one of my favourite flowers and of course they are Beautiful.

*

If you put one Rose in a vase with some leaves it will brighten up your room, if you don’t have a Rose any flower will look good with some twigs or leaves around it on your kitchen bench or table.

If you have children it is good to encourage them to make their own arrangement of flowers, maybe from the garden if you have any that they would be allowed to pick, then they could cut a few twigs off of your hedge and put in with them. A couple in a jam jar would do.

What about a  Recipe for today: ?

Here we are then:

   Stuffed Dates

Pitted Dates  +  Marzipan or Philadelphia Cheese

Cut a small slice of Marzipan or the Cheese and put into the opening in the date where the stone has been taken out.

Arrange on a Platter.

Cover and keep cold in fridge until needed.

These are very nice for a party or when having drinks with friends, not much trouble to make and will keep covered in the Fridge for a few days.

Psalm:  136 verse 26…. give thanks to The God of Heaven. His Love endures forever.

Here is a Poem that I especially like, I hope you like it.

SPIRIT WIND OF GOD.
Wind you are beautiful strong and so free, Wind you are lovely blowing on me.
Wind of the Spirit you blow where you will, Wind of the Spirit,  Ships sails you can fill.
Where do you come from and where do you go, nobody knows as you blow to and fro.
Even though we can’t see you we know you are there, as you rustle the leaves on the trees disturbing the air.
You blow gently at times oh! so gently you blow,  as from East to the West you invisibly flow.
And we know as the hot air rises and rises, the birds on the thermal’s fly and surprise us.
We watch in great fascination as they glide through the skies, with wings outstretched wide making circles and dives.
You are relentless though Wind – in a storm, you wail and you moan, so strong, even lifting a stone.
Not only a stone can you lift but a town, with never a smile, no never a frown.
You can be a mighty Wind when you rise, raging and roaring through the skies.
Battling the elements – snow, rain and hail, invisibly moving with a great wail.
From left to right and back again, all through the day and the night you can reign.
But when you have exhausted your mighty blast, you can be calm and gentle, even still at last.
Then we wonder where did you come from and where have you been, ears have heard you but no eye has seen.

* Have a lovely Day Today *
