Sausage Meat Pie

We have a Jug of Flowers today instead of a Basket of Flowers with some Kangaroo Paws, sitting beside this Metal Dog. I thought it was a nice photo to share.

Recipe today is for Sausage Meat Pie:

Half Kilo (500g) Sausage Meat; 1-Onion(finely chopped); 2 sheets – Short Crust Pastry; about teaspoon spoon Dried Sage; White Pepper; Salt; Milk to brush over Pie Crust..

Method:

Line a Pie Plate or cover a Dinner Plate with 1 sheet of the Pastry. Cover the Pastry with Sausage meet, press down evenly leaving about 1″ of pastry uncovered around the edge. Put onion on the Sausage meat, sprinkle with Sage and Pepper to taste. Wet around the edge of Pastry with Milk and cover over the top with 2nd. Sheet of Pastry. Brush over with Milk, sprinkle with Salt. Cook in hot Oven till Pastry is brown and meat cooked through. Approx. 30 minutes. If Pastry browns too quickly turn oven down to make sure Sausage meat is cooked.

This is excellent for Dinner with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.

Also cold the next day is nice with Salad and Pickles.

Or Cold with a cold drink Cheese and Pickles.
