*Enjoy some CAKE today*

How about making a Basket of Flowers in a Hanging Basket. This may not look the prettiest but it did look nice hanging there with different kinds of plants and flowers in.

Today I thought it would be nice to think about having and making some cake today. Especially as for this month of July there is a special offer on our Recipe book which features the following recipe. It is very quick and easy to make and does not have many ingredients.

Only 3 (THREE) ingredients. It does work very well for beginners or for experienced cooks.

This is good to use for Morning or Afternoon tea – if you have guests coming you can slice and put butter on if you like.

Here is the LINK for the eBook which has a discount for this month of July

“Carnarvon Favourite Recipes”

Proverbs: Chapter 25 verse 21: says – If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink…….

Well there you are then, we can share our Cake not only with our friends but with others who we may not be very fond of – so that small piece of cake may become a blessing to them and to ourselves.

Cake is really very good if filled with fruit and cooked with love and care.

I Hope you have a lovely day testing out a new Recipe so that you can enjoy eating and sharing it with your family and friends.

Also feel free to share this Blog with your friends.

Thank you.

Flowers for Mum

Carnations with Artificial Flowers

The above Basket of Flowers looked lovely that I made to remember my Mother on what would have been her Birthday….She would have been 100 years old if she had still been alive. Mum died when she was nearly 89 yrs old and I don’t usually think to do something special but this year I am glad that I did.

Sometimes it is nice to look back and think about some of our family who are not with us here on this earth anymore. Mainly to remember the good times – and to picture in our mind how precious they were. Even if we did not get on well with whoever it was they were still part of our lives that helped us to be who we are today.

Thought I would put a Recipe here and maybe a Poem to follow.

Here is the Recipe: Avocado Mayonnaise:

1 – Whole Egg; 1 cup-Oil; 1 Tbsp – White Wine Vinegar, 1 soft – Avocado; juice of half Lemon..

Peel Avocado, remove stone. Place in blender, along with Vinegar, Lemon & Egg. Whiz for 1 minute. Slowly add Oil in a thin stream until the mixture thickens. Serve as a Dip, with Vegetables or as a Sauce for Seafood Salads.

Here is a Poem to give us Food for thought.

It is nice to know that Babies are alive in the womb.

Verse for Today: Matthew: Chapter 19 verse 14. Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”.

Have a Lovely Day Today ****

We can Enjoy our Home.

This is one of my Paintings with Roses in Bloom, Just a small painting but I thought it looks very pretty.

I have put a painting on instead of a Basket of Flowers today. Maybe you could put a flower in vase or glass today in your home. To use as something special to look at. Today it is nice to think about the home that we are living in, can we make it look nice, can we tidy a bit of it up today that we have been thinking about and not done anything about it. Our home is our special place, so we should enjoy being in it.

Here is a Special Poem that I wrote – I thought you may like to read it and consider what part of your home you like especially to sit in. It could be just a corner of a room in a comfortable chair, or outside on the Patio or under a tree or by a flower bed, a swimming pool even a chair by the front door to watch the world go by. If you have pet it may like to join you.

Anyway here is the Poem:-

“Piggy’s Home”

It is so lovely here, so warm and lush to nuzzle in the damp dark earth under each tree, bush and grass. There is a muddy large swampy area just to the left of the gate. In it I can wallow, turn, sit and squirm to my hearts content. No one to bother me, no one to see just beautiful squashy mud and me.

Oh! the Bliss, the wonderful Bliss. To wallow like this is better than that old Hogs kiss.

I am so proud of my beautiful body Pink with dark black patches and spots. My lovely Pot Belly is beautiful to behold and I have the cutest curly tail that goes around at the back end of me. Well, you should see my piglet eyes my pointy ears and dainty trotters.

Oh! I am so beautiful, my Mistress tells me this sometimes –  even with a kiss. She says that she won’t mention that word BACON in my presence  –  I don’t know what she means as she whispers it to her friends.

Yes, they come to see me and gaze on my loveliness. My Mistress is so proud of me. She bathes me, hoses me down, dries me with a soft, so soft towel, tucks me under her arm and takes me into her house.  I am put onto my special bed, to watch their television. I lay and look in wonder at the pictures on the screen. Beautiful tidbits the family feed me from their own dinner before my Mistress takes me back to my Sty.

It’s lovely indoors but I much prefer my Pig Sty  –  it is my home, my very own.  I can snuffle around in it as much as I please. My home has big shady trees, with lots of tall grass   –  but the mud puddle, swampy area is the best place of all. I could lay in that for ever and ever and ever.

I am so, so blessed with such a beautiful home.

This is the Day that The Lord has Made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Little one sleeping there, Tender Love Divine. Little one Sleeping there, are you really mine? Has God given you to me, Tender Love Divine? Has God given you to me? Yes, – You’re truly mine.

I hope you like this poem – to me it is lovely for those who have a new born baby to look at when they are asleep as they look so beautiful. A true gift from God our Heavenly Father.

Kale for Dinner?

My Basket of Flowers for Today are Real and Artificial – they do look lovely!

I thought it would be a good idea to show you what I did with some of the Kale to keep it fresh for a few days before cooking.

I used the Kale as a table decoration as you can see from photo below, it looks quite nice sitting in a vase on the table. I did not think it would be a good idea to put flowers in as the Kale was going to be eaten. However it would look good with some flowers in the vase to make a good presentation if you have not got any other green leaves to put in. With a couple of pretty flowers arranged with the Kale it would make a nice display of colour….Something different for a change.

Here is the Vase with the Kale Leaves in.

Cooking the Kale – one quick easy is to Wash it very well and chop or tear the leaves into smaller pieces, also cut up the stalks into bite size pieces – put into a saucepan and just cover with cold water – bring to the boil and then simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain and eat with your main dinner meal.

One way that is nice if you are not too keen on the flavour is to put Malt Vinegar and a sprinkling of White or Black Pepper on when you go to eat it. I find that way is very nice. Plus the fact that this is a good source of several vitamins that our body needs.

Another way is to serve with a soft cooked egg on top.

Well there you are just a small cookery lesson for today.

Christmas Time

Real and Artificial Flowers can look Beautiful together.

It is lovely to think that it is Christmas Time once more so here is my Greeting for you.

Remembering Jesus Christ is Lord.

I hope you have a lovely Christmas Time with your family and friends.

Remember to take a bit of time out for yourself to enjoy that cuppa or visit a friend, especially if you know someone who is on their own.  It would be nice just to visit with a greeting card or take a special plate of food to them.  You don’t need to cook them something – a plate with cake or biscuits bought from the shop would be quite a treat for them.

Matthew Chapter 1 verse 21. It says: She will give birth to a Son and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

*May God Bless You *
