Passion Fruit Time

Here is a close up of a Passion Fruit Flower growing in my garden.

I thought this would be a nice photo to put here today as we now have Passion Fruit Season here.

Have put this on instead of a Basket of Flowers to start off the Blog today.

So – Recipes for Passion Fruit.

First of all we can just eat them straight from the Vine when they are fully ripe, just cut in half and scoop out to eat or – cut the top off and eat with a spoon like you would holding and egg.

Next: Well they go very well if you scoop out and put over the top of Vanilla Ice-cream. To make it more of a meal add Rice Bubbles to the dish, Honey and maybe some nuts. Or another Cereal that you prefer.

You can freeze the Passion Fruit Pulp in Ice Cube containers to use at a later time. Can drop one cube (or more) into your jug of Lemon Juice in the fridge, it makes a refreshing drink in the Summer months.

I hope you have a lovely Day today….here is a Flower for you today to say God Bless You.

Just a lovely arrangement.

Sausage Meat Pie

We have a Jug of Flowers today instead of a Basket of Flowers with some Kangaroo Paws, sitting beside this Metal Dog. I thought it was a nice photo to share.

Recipe today is for Sausage Meat Pie:

Half Kilo (500g) Sausage Meat; 1-Onion(finely chopped); 2 sheets – Short Crust Pastry; about teaspoon spoon Dried Sage; White Pepper; Salt; Milk to brush over Pie Crust..

Method:

Line a Pie Plate or cover a Dinner Plate with 1 sheet of the Pastry. Cover the Pastry with Sausage meet, press down evenly leaving about 1″ of pastry uncovered around the edge. Put onion on the Sausage meat, sprinkle with Sage and Pepper to taste. Wet around the edge of Pastry with Milk and cover over the top with 2nd. Sheet of Pastry. Brush over with Milk, sprinkle with Salt. Cook in hot Oven till Pastry is brown and meat cooked through. Approx. 30 minutes. If Pastry browns too quickly turn oven down to make sure Sausage meat is cooked.

This is excellent for Dinner with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.

Also cold the next day is nice with Salad and Pickles.

Or Cold with a cold drink Cheese and Pickles.
