Flowers are Beautiful

RosesSeat

I know that this is an old garden settee but how lovely the Basket of Flowers look they really are a picture.  Roses are one of my favourite flowers and of course they are Beautiful.

*

If you put one Rose in a vase with some leaves it will brighten up your room, if you don’t have a Rose any flower will look good with some twigs or leaves around it on your kitchen bench or table.

If you have children it is good to encourage them to make their own arrangement of flowers, maybe from the garden if you have any that they would be allowed to pick, then they could cut a few twigs off of your hedge and put in with them. A couple in a jam jar would do.

Rose Bud

What about a  Recipe for today: ?

Here we are then:

   Stuffed Dates

Pitted Dates  +  Marzipan or Philadelphia Cheese

Cut a small slice of Marzipan or the Cheese and put into the opening in the date where the stone has been taken out.

Arrange on a Platter.

Cover and keep cold in fridge until needed.

***

These are very nice for a party or when having drinks with friends, not much trouble to make and will keep covered in the Fridge for a few days.

***

Psalm:  136 verse 26…. give thanks to The God of Heaven. His Love endures forever.

Here is a Poem that I especially like, I hope you like it.

SPIRIT WIND OF GOD.
Wind you are beautiful strong and so free, Wind you are lovely blowing on me.
Wind of the Spirit you blow where you will, Wind of the Spirit,  Ships sails you can fill.
Where do you come from and where do you go, nobody knows as you blow to and fro.
Even though we can’t see you we know you are there, as you rustle the leaves on the trees disturbing the air.
You blow gently at times oh! so gently you blow,  as from East to the West you invisibly flow.
And we know as the hot air rises and rises, the birds on the thermal’s fly and surprise us.
We watch in great fascination as they glide through the skies, with wings outstretched wide making circles and dives.
You are relentless though Wind – in a storm, you wail and you moan, so strong, even lifting a stone.
Not only a stone can you lift but a town, with never a smile, no never a frown.
You can be a mighty Wind when you rise, raging and roaring through the skies.
Battling the elements – snow, rain and hail, invisibly moving with a great wail.
From left to right and back again, all through the day and the night you can reign.
But when you have exhausted your mighty blast, you can be calm and gentle, even still at last.
Then we wonder where did you come from and where have you been, ears have heard you but no eye has seen.

* Have a lovely Day Today *

Have a Pleasant Day Today!

A really Pretty Basket of Flowers for Today

*

I think when you make yourself a pretty vase of flowers

or you can make up a basket of flowers

as a gift for yourself to put in your living room

it really does lift your spirits and you can have a more

– PLEASANT DAY –

*

The above flowers are standing in wet oasis in the basket which is put into a container so that they don’t drip through the bottom of the basket.

– however they will not last as long if they are not in a vase of  water…..

So if you don’t want to take them out of the oasis to disturb your arrangement,

you can lift it all out and put oasis with the flowers into a bowl of water

then they can drink better for a few days.

*

This is a good way to make yourself a special arrangement

instead of just putting odd flowers into a jug or vase of water.

Oasis is not very expensive and you can reuse it a few times.

^^^^^^

Would you like a Recipe for today?

Children are a Blessing

* Here we have a lovely Basket of Flowers *

The two red flowers are sleeping Hibiscus.

That is because they do not open up any further

than what you see in the photo.

However they really do help to make the arrangement look

very pretty though.

*

As I do believe that children are a blessing here is my new book especially written for children aged between two to six years.  If you would like to see what it is about please click on the link below and if you like it maybe send on to your friends who have small children.

Here is a recipe for today:

Recipe is taken from book “Carnarvon Favourite Recipes”

You need to click on (Buy on Amazon) to see about the book, as I am not very good at this yet and I don’t think the other links are working on here……!!!

Here is a Bible Verse:

Matthew: Chapter 19 verse 14

Jesus said “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them,

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

I hope you have a good day today.

Can we do All Things?

Here is a lovely Basket of Flowers for Today

*

When you look at this basket of Flowers it becomes obvious that no, we cannot do all things.  For instance however much we love these flowers, no way could we possibly make one.   Alright you may say that we can grow them, yes of course we can but we cannot make the seed that they grow from.

Do you realize that the life force of the plant or flower is really in that tiny little seed?  If you cut it open you still cannot see or alter the life of the seed.  When things were first made they were made to produce after their own kind.  For instance if you plant one of the seeds from the above Basket of Flowers it cannot grow into an Apple Tree, Oak Tree or any other sort of tree.  The seed from the flower will have to sprout and grow and produce an identical looking plant from the one you took the seed from.

This has happened from the beginning of Time –  the Time of Creation when all things were made.

When you  think of it, all these hundreds and thousands of years Animals, Fish, Plants, Trees even us Humans all have been producing after our own kind, none have evolved from an amoeba as Evolutionists believe.

*

I thought I would put this Poem here today – because thinking of what is said above about Hundreds and Thousands of Years – Time is still much the same today, there is Morning and Night – Night and Morning – Dark and Light – Light and Dark, these you can see or understand.  Time on the other hand you cannot see or feel it is invisible but it is still real.  We know when it is time to get up from our sleep and when to lay down to sleep but you still cannot see the thing called TIME !!!

The above Poem is taken from one of my  books:

However you may like to see this book if you like Cooking.

Here is a Bible Verse for today:  Philippians: Chapter 4 verse 13.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

*

That is good for us to remember each day in our everyday living.

Have a Lovely Day today with TIME to enjoy something nice for yourself.

*

Feel free to post this Blog to your friends if you would like to.

Let our Light Shine

Here is a lovely Basket of Flowers

 * I think this looks so pretty *

Mostly green leaves and some yellow Lantana but the Red Flower makes all the difference to the arrangement.

So when you make up a posy, vase or basket of flowers it is good to have a focal point sometimes, to make your arrangement look even more special.

Maybe today you could just do that as a treat for the room that you will be mostly

working or sitting in.

*

What about a Recipe then ???

Here we are:-

Stuffed Dates ………

Pitted Dates + Marzipan

Cut a small slice of Marzipan

and put into the opening in the Date

where the stone has been taken out.

Arrange on Platter.

Cover and keep cold in Fridge until needed.

*

This is a very simple recipe and very, very tasty to share at a party with your drinks. !

A small slice of Cheese or Cream Cheese instead of Marzipan can be inserted into the dates.

*

So let your light Shine in regard to arranging a lovely vase of flowers

or even with your cooking your light can shine.

Also in regard to your Hobby whatever it is – let it be seen and enjoy what you are doing.

* So when your light shines it can give pleasure to others*

Here is a Bible quote about the light:

Luke: Chapter 8 verse 16

“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed.

instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.

*

Today let us be like a lamp shining forth the light –

the love of The Lord Jesus.

Don’t let us be forever hiding the light that is in us.

Have a lovely Day

Happy Day

Here is a lovely arrangement of Roses on my old Vintage looking settee.

Sometime the old things are most comfortable and we don’t want to change them for upmarket looking things.

As we get older it is nice to have our familiar belongings around us.

***

Many young people like to follow the newest trends in whatever the fashion is at the time.

That is why we have all the Road Side Curb Crawl days to throw out the used goods and buy new.

Well some of us can’t keep up with the Jones’es nor do we need to because we like to keep our Vintage Treasure’s and use our hard earned finance to fund something else to use it for: – maybe a holiday or to help our family or friends.

However it is good to find a really good bargain along the Road Side Curb to help us when we are in need of a helping hand.

This is a good way to Recycle that thing that we don’t need any more:

Put it out for someone else to use or to treasure.

***

Well enough about recycling -here is a Recipe for today:

+ Cheese Dreams +

2 – Slices Sandwich  Bread. Cheese to cover one Slice.  Frying Pan. Oil for Frying.

Put cheese on one Slice of Bread, Cover with the next Slice.

Cover base of Frying Pan with Oil, when Oil is hot carefully put in your Cheese Dream and fry until golden brown underneath then turn over and brown the next side.

* The Cheese will melt and be YUMMY! *

If you like you can sprinkle some mixed herbs on the cheese before cooking or sprinkle some Garlic on to the cheese for a different taste.

The best one I have found is to sprinkle some Thyme Herb on the cheese before you put the other slice on top.

Now that Winter is coming this is really good with Egg and Bacon for a hearty Breakfast or Lunch – or just on it’s own!!!!!!

This is also a good one to put on the B.B.Q.

*****

Here is a Bible Verse:  Psalm: 27  verse 1.  The Lord is my light and my Salvation – whom shall I fear?

  *  Well we don’t have to have any fear –

we can make a Cheese Dream today and have a Happy Day  *

You may like to make yourself a really nice Basket of Flowers for Easter.  If you have a garden it is amazing what you can find in the way of flowers and leaves to make something special.  Put the flowers in a vase or jar of water that is if you do not have Wet Flower Oasis to put them in.

Then stand them in some sort of basket or a larger bowl.

Once you have organized your lovely Flower Arrangement put it on a table or somewhere for you to look at over the next few days.

It can bring much joy to any visitors or family that come to your home.

All the Flowers:

All the flowers their faces lift

to the sky and never cry,

for anything us mortals need

except – maybe for their seed,

to carry out their fruitfulness,

of reproducing God’s good work,

in making flowers of glorious hue

for the likes of Me and You.
