Lunch Time !

This is a photo of the beautiful Wild Flowers in North West Australia – two of my Grandchildren walking in the middle of them.

After walking amongst the wild flowers and going back for lunch…..what to have? That is the question! Well how about a slice of toast & butter with some tinned Tuna in Olive Oil spread out on it. Today I topped mine with sliced Beetroot, Parmesan Cheese, sprinkling of Garlic Powder, White Pepper and Mayonnaise. It was very nice and made a nutritious lunch. Very tasty. Best to eat with a knife and fork. Sorry I don’t have a photo of it, never thought about that until I had eaten it.!!!

Along the Pathway

I walked down the Pathway and saw a flower. It was morning time not the earliest hour. The sun was out and the bloom was beautiful. Petals so soft stretching up towards the sun. Quite large Petals so soft and new, opening up for me and you. Glorious orange and red in colour growing on the sturdy branches of the green leafed tree. Down the Pathway it adds some colour – to  brighten our day and to see the wonder, the wonder of creation afresh each day. As I walk along the Pathway. Day by day.

It’s Mango Time

A good closeup look at some of the Lantana Flowers. They are very pretty.

I have just made a fresh batch a couple of days ago – you need to let the jars set in the fridge for about a week to 10days so it has time to mature………………………….The Chutney is very nice to put into a meat sandwich or on the side of a Salad.

I thought I would put this poem on for you that I wrote.

A Roving Eye.

I have a roving eye. I look to and fro. Up and down and roundabout. Who or what do I see?

Mainly I scan the Heavens.  I see small stars, large stars, Planets galore. The Milky Way is a pleasure to behold. Saturn, Mercury, Venice and Mars are just a few to let you know what I behold with my Roving Eye.

I am the Satellite Dish…standing proud upon a hill…in Carnarvon, North Western Australia.

My Roving Eye can move around to see the Heavenly Galaxy.

I am so proud to be able to see – The Glory of the Outer World of our Universe.

No naked eye can see what I see. I even saw the first men landing on the moon.

What a privilege to be a Satellite Dish……  Standing upright and alone on the Hill.

This is an Oil Painting that I did of the Satellite Dish.

Runner Beans?

Fresh Picked Brown Leaves with Artificial Roses.

They look lovely in this display ready to take to Church.

Would also make a nice presentation in your home or office for a few days.

How about a Runner Bean Recipe:

Runner Beans, Garlic Powder, White Pepper, Oil.

Wash, trim, and cut the Runner Beans (the way you like them). Put in a Microwave dish. Sprinkle with the Garlic Powder and White Pepper. Then drizzle small amount of your favourite Oil over. Shake it all about and cover to put in Microwave oven for about two minutes on high, or until they are cooked to your liking.

This is a quick and easy way to cook the Runner Beans and they taste really good. Remember do not add any water when you cook them this way.

All Flowers are lovely Creations.

Look what a lovely Colour these Beautiful Flowers are.

These are the Flowers on a tree in my front garden.
However I am not sure what the tree is called.
Mostly when it is in full bloom all the leaves have dropped off.
The small green birds love to sip the nectar from inside the petals.

So today maybe the day is the day to pick or choose a red flower to put in a vase on your table or workspace. They really do brighten and cheer the room up ……… But…….. if you cannot find a red flower it is nice to put some other colour in, maybe with some green leaves to make a special show that will last for a few days to give pleasure to whoever will see them.

Perhaps we should have a Recipe – Here we are then:

We have lots of Lemons at the moment so thought this would be a good recipe to try.

A New Day

Beautiful Colourful Blossom on this photo that I took
Instead of a Basket of Flowers here we have a tree blown into this shape by the constant wind in and around Geraldton N.W. Australia…..it is an Acrylic Painting that I did from one of my Photographs..

Every Day is a new day for us to live and laugh and love and enjoy…. some days are not so good but life is what we make it. We need to get up each day to get on with the work we are meant to be doing. If we live alone or with a family we need to be pleased that we are alive to live another New Day.

Don’t let the wind blow away those thoughts and things that you need to do for today.

Remember Yesterday has gone and Tomorrow never comes so we have: TODAY……which is a New Day.

What are we going to do Today then? That is the question!

We all have to get up from our beds, get washed and dressed ready for the New Day….some of us like to pray first before we have our breakfast, others wait until later….and others do not think to pray but just get on with the daily chores to start with. However we all have a New Day each Day to do something with remembering that this New Day will never come again because then it will become Yesterday. How about that then?

Here is a link to one of my Books…hope you like it and can have a bit of fun with your family playing the game. It tells you inside the book how to play – you need at least two people. It is good to play in the car while driving to help keep the Driver alert and is a bit of fun for the passengers.

This is a book of Pen & Ink Drawings of Cats and is a Game for Young and Old to play together.

A Good Memory

Can you see the busy Little Bee on the flower – this is on of my better photos. These Daisy Flowers grow close to the ground and make a lovely picture.

Today I thought we would have a sort of Poem about remembering things…. as we get a bit older we do tend to forget a few things and have to stand and think for a moment whether we a coming or going or where we have put something that we cannot find.

Then sometimes when we are looking for the lost item – we then may wonder what we are actually looking for. For some people it can be their glasses to hunt for – eventually finding they already have them on their face.

Maybe you have never gone into another room and stood at the door wondering why you are going in there to get something……and can’t remember what it was!!! Well, that day may one day come – you never know.

So best thing is to go back to where you were – look around and you suddenly may remember what you were going into the next room for, it may be a simple as that.!

Here is my Poem……. hope you like it:

I Just Remembered

I just remembered, did I forget to do that, or – did I do it and forget that I did it?

I forget now but if I do it now and  I have already done it, that means that I would have done it twice.

Best if I don’t do it now.  I may not have done it at all if I didn’t do it in the first place.

What a dilemma, why did I just think that I hadn’t done it, then think that maybe I had.

Well I remember thinking that I should but I wonder if I did.

  The best thing is to go and look I suppose – now what was it that I think I forgot to do.

I can’t remember now, best to have a Cuppa and think about it later.

Do you like a Yummy Fruit Salad ?

This was one of our lovely Hanging Baskets.

That hanging basket has long gone now but I think it is lovely to take a photo sometimes of our different pot plants and flowers before they are gone.

Also it is good to keep a file on the computer to put our flower photos in. If you have never thought about that I think it is a good thing to do, to remember some of the beautiful flowers that we can grow in Hanging Baskets or photos of our Pot Plants.

Lantana is so Pretty!

This is a close-up of Lantana growing in my Driveway.
It looks so pretty. However it does not do well when cut to put in a vase as it only seems to last a few days once cut.

I thought this photo would look nice instead of putting a photo of a Basket of Flowers on here today, the photo has come out very well as I am not the worlds best at taking photo’s but every now and then we seem to get a good one.

So I would encourage you today to take several photo’s of any special flowers that you have growing in your garden or maybe when you go for a walk….just a close-up sometimes can be very rewarding. Then if you save to your computer can be used to bless friends or others by printing out onto a card for them. If you take several the delete button is very helpful to take off the ones that are not so good. !!! Yes I have to delete quite a few.!!!

So – Lantana can look very nice in a display but may only last like I said just a couple of days before wilting.

The above basket of flowers was made to take to Church – the flowers are anchored down in Wet Oasis.

An Easy Recipe for today:

* BANANA CAKE *

Use your favourite plain recipe: Add:

2 – Ripe Bananas (mashed)

Cook in the usual way

Decorate and Eat.

(Lemon Flavour Butter Icing is nice to use for Banana Cake)

Beautiful Poinciana Tree

Lovely Shade from Poinciana Tree on our Driveway.

The Poinciana Tree is overhanging from my neighbour’s garden and has given us all this lovely shade and red blossoms on the pavers. Lots of seed pods still hanging from last Season. It is a beautiful spot to walk under and helps keep us cool from the 30 to 40 deg. heat. at this time of the year here in Carnarvon, Western Australia.

If picked to put in a vase, these flowers do not last very long, maybe a day or two but look very pretty if put in with some greenery.

As it is our Summer here I thought you may like a Smoothie Recipe today or – maybe you call them a Milk Shake.

Banana Milk Shake…..Smoothie.

2 – Carnarvon Ripe Bananas: 1 tsp – Sugar or Honey; One and a half glasses – Cold Milk.

Put all in Blender – Blend approx. 30 Seconds pour into Glasses.

Serves Two

Alternative: Add two scoops Vanilla Ice-cream to Blender with the above recipe:

Or: add one Scoop to individual Glasses before serving, pour Milk Shake on top of Ice-cream.

Healthy Breakfast Special. ….. without Ice-Cream.

Ingredients as above but add (per person)5-Almonds; 2-Brazil nuts; 1tsp.Psyllium Husk (if liked); 1-dried Apricot or Prune or Date; 1tsp-Honey. 1tsp – Ground ASL= (Almond,Sunflower,Linseed).

Put all in Blender-Blend approx. 30 Seconds or till Blended …. pour into glass, drink straight away (Quite thick and filling)?

A Cool Smoothie

Other Milk Shakes

Use Fruit of your choice instead of Bananas and proceed as above.

A Lovely Basket of Mixed Flowers for Today.

Baked Egg Custard

Here is a Photo of the Lovely Passionfruit Flower.
This was growing in my garden followed by beautiful purple Passionfruit for us to eat and enjoy

Passionfruit can be eaten straight off the vine and can be used in many different ways.

  1. It is lovely to cut through the middle and eat the contents with a spoon.
  2. Also can scoop out the pulp and put over Ice-cream (best use Vanilla) to get the lovely taste of the Passionfruit.
  3. What about using a family size Pavlova putting cream on top and adding the Pulp of the Passionfruit on top of the cream.
  4. See picture below of Pavlova – for a lovely Afternoon Tea with friends or family.
  5. If you are used to making Lemon Butter it is good when cooking to add some Passionfruit Pulp to make a different kind of Spread for your toast or bread.
  6. You can of course make Passionfruit Butter on it’s own.
  7. Another way is put to the pulp (not too much) into your jug of Water of Lemon Water in the fridge and drink cold as a refreshing drink.
Pavlova with Passionfruit

Here is a Recipe for today of: BAKED EGG CUSTARD

In a Shallow Dish……….

Whip up 2 – Eggs.

Cover with Cold Milk & Stir in 1 Tablespoon of Sugar.

Sprinkle a little Nutmeg on top.

Cook in Slow Oven till Set.

The above recipe is very easy to cook and very nutritious for the family, also helpful when recovering from an illness and not able to eat much….especially the children. The above recipe is printed in my Recipe Book – you may like to check the book out on the Link below.
